What is the holy book of Islam called?

The holy book of Islam is called the Quran. Muslims believe that the Quran is divinely inspired and was revealed over a period of 23 years to the prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel.

The Quran, written in ancient Arabic, contains 114 chapters. A chapter is a “sura,” and a verse is called an “ayah.” This sacred book was not arranged in chronological order but according to the length of the surah.

The Quran is regarded as a guide to living life in harmony with the Creator, Allah. It encompasses stories that tell about the creation of the world and mankind and overlaps with stories from the Hebrew Old Testament and the Christian New Testament. The Quran reveals to Muslims the nature of God. It also acknowledges the relationships of Jews, Christians and Muslims, recounting stories about and honoring biblical figures such as Adam, Abraham and Jesus. Wikipedia
