Popular model-actress Mithila has received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal from Brac University. The prestigious award came for her outstanding CGPA 4 in her master’s degree in Early Childhood Development as she was pursuing her second master’s degree from Brac University.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presented the Chancellor’s Gold Medal and certificate to Mithila during the 11th convocation of Brac University yesterday at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital.
DhakaLive has news that Mithila received the good news earlier on Sunday at the rehearsal prior to the yesterday’s convocation programme. From that very moment she was very excited.
Mithila said about her achievement, “Firstly, I am grateful to my parents. Because when I enrolled in master’s degree, my daughter Ayra was very small at that time. I wanted to complete my study before my daughter starts her school life. My parents, my colleagues at the office and my classmates—everyone supported me immensely. As a whole, being a mother, I was interested to study in Early Childhood Development and I enjoyed it.”
“I continued my job; I maintained my family, did the shooting and attended all my classes regularly. I didn’t compromise with my study. I am very happy with my landmark success that I earned giving due efforts. I am immeasurably grateful to Allah”, she added.
Mithila earlier completed her honour’s and master’s degree in Political Science from University of Dhaka. She is currently working at Brac International as an education programme manager.
