India-Bangladesh joint-venture movie on Bangabandhu

Amid long-cherished expectation of the movie-loving people, the movie based on the life of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be made by joint venture initiative of Bangladesh and India.

The movie will be released in 2020.

The announcement came after tête-à-tête and a bilateral meeting of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her India counterpart Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday (April 08).

“We agreed to produce a movie jointly on the life and work of Bangabandhu. We hope that the movie will released in 2020”, said Narendra Modi at a press briefing after the bilateral meeting.

He further said, “We will jointly make a documentary based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh, marking its golden jubilee in 2021.”
